Thanks to Kitty_White for being my wonderful and friend!

You don't discuss carbonyl iron in your link - is there a reason to prefer the polysaccharide over the carbonyl at this point for RNYers? I ask because I notice that most bariatric specific iron supplements are at least partially carbonyl iron and the ASMBS recommends the carbonyl, so I'm curious what they look like side by side in terms of effectiveness/side-effects/restrictions/doses/cost, etc?
As for recommendations by ASMBS we see in another thread here where Humber Bariatric is "recommending" ferrous sulfate. . .and I believe, while not directly quoting you, more "paraphrasing" some doctors just don't know.
Digestibility and absorb-ability of FE+2 irons vs FE+3 irons is relatively new research (2008) but the stuff is out there if you take the time to look for it.
