Coughing

I've been coughing ever since my surgery. I thought it was due to the Anastesia. You know how difficult coughing is after any surgery. Is this typical or should I be concerned? Thanks

It's likely an effect of the anaesthesia. Do some deep breathing and coughing, which will help open up the lungs and get any crap out of there.

for the first 3 to 4 days i coughed more than normal, dry cough, now i'm 9 days out the cough is gone and now i'm so thristy i just want to chug a bottle of water but must settle for baby sips.

Did you get a spirometer to use at the hospital... I was coughing a bit when I got home using it certainly helped open up the lungs... no more coughing!

hi dianne i have the same problem the nurse told me to do deep breathing. how re your stiches the two major ones feel like he tightened them too much they r the only thing thats killuing me

Stacy hope you're coming along. Thanks for the coughing info. It hurts to cough. Today I started to feel better but still in a bit of a daze. The gas is starting to subside. Hope you heal beautifully and get back to your groove. Take care of yourself and happy losing.
