Congratulations on coming through like a champ! 
I had a hiatus hernia repair as well. I feel so much better. My surgeon told me to take prevacid fast tab (disolves) probably for the rest of my life to avoid future ulcers or acid reflux.
Keep up the sipping, walking, and tooting. It was so funny when the nurses would congratulate us for a toot. Just like being a kid again. Make sure you get your rest too.
