Wound care

I was not given instructions on wound care when I was discharged yesterday. One of My dressings came off last night and I was shocked not to find stitches/staples. It seems I was glued back together.

Does anyone know properwound care procedures?

I was 'glued' as well. The scars healed beautifully for me. So much so that I have to look for them.
It's been a while for me on the scar treatment...I know you should keep them dry. I don't think I did much else.

Hi Dave,

Is there any oozing or is it still nice and clean?  If its oozing definitely call the office and if not put a clean bandage on it.  Please note that I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on tv, I'm just using what I consider common sense in my own little mind, lol!

Everything seems clean. No oozing. I'll put some bandages on them.

Dave, I would call TWH and ask them what to do.

Sometimes you just put one foot in front of the other, even if you don't know where you're going.

Hey Dave!  Keep them clean and dry. No irritation. If you have any steristrips you could put one or two across the cut. I didn't have dressings on my cuts, just the strips and I peeled them off about 7 days after the surgery (they were itching so bad). :o) Hope you are doing well otherwise.

Can you use a hairdryer on low to make sure it's all dried good?
