Ugh TOM after surgery!!
This may be TMI but I just had my first TOM and I am in so much pain. Back ache cramping oh and craving chocolate (most likely just head) but it his taken me for a whirl wind. I don't feel like functioning or eating. Normally I would take midol when it got this bad but now what can I take?? Any suggestion.....
Oh I feel for you. I have had THE worst PMS since surgery. I thought it was bad before, but now is just horrible. I take a generic version of Midol that has acetaminophen (Tylenol) rather than ibuprofen. It is Rexall (Pharmaplus) Multi-symptom PMS Relief. I find it does the trick and hasn't bothered my pouch.
Hope you feel better soon,
Kristie.
P.S. I satisfy the chocolate cravings with a small bite of protein bar. Since you are only a month post-op you may not be ready for that yet. Of course the best option is to overcome the head part, but for me a small bite puts the craving on the back burner.

Midol makes a whole slew of products and many are safe for people with RNY. Just check the ingredient list to make sure there are no Nsaids in the one you purchase. If unsure, just tell the pharmacist you can't have them and they will give you the right one.
