pain meds
I took three pain meds total (at home).
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
For me it was almost 3 weeks. I had quite a bit of pain on the left side. Everyone is individual when it comes to pain. You want to keep it undercontrol. If you have a little ache and managing to move, walk, rest then you are probably ok. But if it starts to get stronger to the point where it is affecting your ability to move walk eat then take something. You can take plain tylenol too.
The trick with pain meds is to take before it gets bad. Then you dont need as much. Don't be afraid to take it if you need it.

Hi Brenda,
They sent me home with a script for 30 Percocets but I only took them for 3 days, decreasing the dosage & cutting them in half as time passed. Now I'm back on just Tramacet which I take every day for my chronic back pain - don't need any type of pain relief for my sleeve. Hope all's well with you, kiddo!
