oops. Do premier shakes have to be stored in fridge

Hi All,
Just opened a new case of premier chocolate shakes from costco. It has been on my counter for a month. It was thick and lumpy-not drinkable.

In the store they were just stacked by the vitamins. Are they supposed to be refrigerated before opening? There is nothing on the box that says that. I read to drink chilled. Are they to be stored chilled?

I leave mine in the case on the floor and just put a few in the fridge at a time.  Did you shake it well before opening?  I find them thick if I don't give them a good shake first.

When I bought them, I did the same as Tracey. They seemed fine.

Yup. I shook it well. I tried to take a pic of it. I poured it into a bullet, was going to add ice.

When they get like that, I take it back to costco and return it, they shouldn't be chuncky like that.

I keep mine in the fridge ;)

I just keep mine in the box as well & just put a few at a time in the fridge. No problems here. Did you check the expiry date on them?

The best before date is December 2012.
I don't have a reciept any more but I will try to take it back at Costco next time I'm there.

You don't need a receipt with Costco.  I didn't have mine when I returned another type of protein drink.  They keep record of all your purchases with your card, so you'll be fine without it  :)
