Brenda, aren't you still on Pureed foods, like me? Can we eat pizza at this stage? That recipe looks delicious but I'm afraid to jump the gun. I still have another week on Pureed food, then onto Soft food.

Yes you are right Deb, but I don't believe in pureed foods. lol  I chew the living out of it.

I'm not telling you to do this but this is what I'm doing.

Hmm.  Well, "not believing in puree" is... I guess I don't even know what to say.  I'm a rule follower which has, I believe, led to my success.

I'm going to be a good girl and freeze the rest and eat from the pureed list.

Thanks for the love xoox

Brenda, be super-careful & really chew the heck out of what you're eating so that you don't swallow anything that might cause a problem. Did you read about Marny & her Timbits? That was scary!  I just don't want to take a chance on hurting myself after waiting 2 years for this surgery.

I'm too afraid to rush things so I'm still doing the mushy, pureed thing for now. It's  getting a lot easier now that we can add more things to our diet & found some pretty good recipes for pureed things that I want to try. I'm really enjoying a few tastes of mashed sweet potatoes - yum!  The only things I'm really craving are barbecue-type things - I guess because it's that time of year - but I have patience & I can wait a while longer until my system can handle a few bites of a burger and a bit of potato salad.

Take it easy, Brenda!

I'm still on pureed (surgery was a month ago) but have to wait until the Nurse and dietician appointment to go onto soft solids. I have enjoyed a lean mesquite pork (from walmart 4 for $5) cooked on the BBQ. Then I add a tbs water and 2 tbs low cal BBQ sauce and puree it in the magic bullet. Tastes like BBQ and goes down fine.

Glad to hear that you're finding ways to make it interesting, Heather. Just the thought of putting meat in a blender and then pureeing it turns me off but maybe I will give it a try, since you said that your pork & BBQ sauce tasted good! How do you buy it at Walmart - does it come pre-packaged in the meat case or is it frozen? I'm not familiar with it. Thanks!  BTW, when do you see the nurse & dietician to get the okay to move on to soft foods?

Hi there,
The pork is in the meat section at the walmart super store. It's right in with the other pork, 4 little 100g chops (No bone or fat) with mesquite flavouring. Each chop is blister/bubble packed and the back of the package is black.  I just cut them apart (each remained sealed) and froze 2, Cooked two and ate one each night. They are fresh and so yummy. I hope you give them a try. I also found pureed chili to taste the same as regular chili.

I see the experts on the 6th of June. Then I can finally move on :)

Thanks Deb, I am going to stick to my mushy stuff now.  This was the only thing I tried
off the list and I'm not going to eat it until I'm allowed.

Besides, the mushy stuff is pretty good, I made sweet potato with butternut squash
with some garlic and salt and pepper, backed it in the oven and mashed it.
That is so yummy.  And I froze it in ice cube trays and put them in a zip lock bag.
So I have lots now.  And I am enjoying the tuna very much!

Thanks for your concern, but I am on the straight and narrow now.
I don't want to blow this thing either.  I am going to be a success!!

xoxo
