The Anti-Aging Business
I was out of moisturizer this weekend. Before surgery, I only ever washed my face with cleanser and I never had bad skin. I always figured, if I don't have to absorb chemicals via my skin, then why bother? Since having surgery, I find that my skin is very dry and that, coupled with the looser skin on my face, has lead me to use a day and a night moisturizer. I ended up purchasing 2 separate creams by Loreal. One is a day cream called a micro-sculpting cream that is supposed to do a whole host of things including firming up loose skin (I loaded up on that around my eyes !). The other is a night cream that is also supposed to so a whole multitude of things like correcting discolouration / over- pigmentation. Promises, promises.
HOLY COW! $55 later I felt like quite the sucker! I slouched home with my 2 purchases feeling soooo guilty. Well, after 2 days of using this stuff, I can honestly say that my skin feels a whole lot better. Maybe it is just my imagination, but I believe there is a true difference!
Seriously though....It probably costs them no more than $5 to make this stuff. Why are they charging me $27?? (Well...I know WHY. $$$). What a money-making business!!! Am I just gullible to belileve that this stuff works, or does it actually work?

I'm a firm believer in moisturizer. I've been using the Mary Kay skin care products for over 20 years and got into using moisturizer at a young age plus sunscreen. People always think I'm 10 years younger than I am.
I don't think $55 is very much. Aren't you worth it? (YES, you are!) And you said your skin feels better...keep it up!

Glad to know that the cream is actually working for you. If it does what it says it does it's worth the price.
However.. if it doesn't work then yes it sucks. So thanks for letting us know that that brand actually does work because I have bought products for that cost and more and haven't actually gotten alot out of them.
