Numbness from my knee down
Ok so after feeling nauseous and puking every morning they have come to the conclusion that I have low blood sugar in the morning so I need to eat before bed. However now I am now numb and tingly from my knee down ..... I don't know if being sick for the past 3 weeks have taking a toll on my body and I wasn't getting enough protein in and not my vitamins I'm not sure am going to TWH tomorrow. I am just curious if anyone else have felt like this!?!?
Who determined that low morning blood sugar was causing your morning vomiting? This sounds odd to me. Are you now monitoring your hypoglycamia with a blood monitor? What else did they check you for? Did you have a scope to look for an ulcer? Sudden numbness that doesn't go away with movement can be a serious emergency. When and what were your most recent blood work levels like? Chronic vomiting can cause a host of problems.
I had OHIP approved Duodenal Switch surgery with Dr. Dennis Hong at St. Joseph's Hamilton on March 7th, 2012. Want more information on the DS in Ontario? Send me a private message!
I have had no feeling from the knees down and it has been that way since I apparently put my back out 8 years ago shovelling the snow off our roof
..there was no pain and thankfully never has been
the diagnosis...a disc pressing on a nerve...the drawback is that in the winter I have to be VERY careful that my feet don't get frostbite because I can't feel them
and YES..get to the doctor~!!

I had something similar, it started as tingly numbness and developed into drop foot. Turns out I had a severe Thiamine (B1) deficiency. Once I started supplementing with a B100 complex it resolved itself in a few weeks.
I would have full bloodwork done and specifically ask for a Thiamine test (you will have to pay for it as it's not covered but I think it's only arond $35)
