Three things I am grateful for since having WLS

I am so grateful for many things.  The top three right now are:

1) Being able to run around with my 2 boys.
2) being able to cross my legs - I find myself doing this ALL THE TIME :)
3) Having the ability to control my cravings for food instead of my cravings controlling me.

Very very good thread...:)

#3 - being comfortable in my own skin, without limitations of things I want to do
#2 - clean bill of health, no more meds
#1 - understanding my addiction, the reasoning behind overeating, controlling the feelings I used to associate with food.

Overall, I'm wayyy a better person physically and mentally because of my RNY.
I sooo appreciate myself for taking the step to do this and sooo appreciate our medical system for helping me get a better life!

What a great thread. I haven't had my surgery yet but it really was heartwarming to hear all of your thoughts on this. It makes me feel very optimistic for my future after WLS. Thanks for that.

1.  Waking up in the morning with a sense of peace & calm around food.
2.  Going to bed not beating myself up over my lack of control throughout the day.
3.  Being able to say 'hi' to the me that was inside wanting to get out from behind the large body.

Weight loss surgery was the last thing that I got to do with my best friend Sandi, going2Bthin, before she past away from breast cancer; so, I have many fun and great memories on our journey to the operating room and 3 months after that I will cherish forever.
