Just finished a 45min walk in the teeming rain T-storm after working 12hr med/surg
nursing shift!!!!!!

I'm trying to "put a little me in everyday" - and I am finding I still have the energy to care
myself at the end of the day- so as I said to my hubby "one half of my butt wants to walk
and the other half wants to plant on the couch"- he laughed and said "which one are you
gonna let win?"

Felt amazing- attitude is everything, I appreciated the rain  (feeling not taste, lol) and
focused on my music.  With one sock sliding  down my foot in my shoe and a near miss with
a falling tree branch and the obligatory surf wave sent off by the jerks in their van- I still
pulled off a new milestone of jogging for longer than before. because I was already soaked what
did it matter to go that extra block! NO EXCUSES!

The rain stopped to a trickle the moment I was back on my own sidewalk and I really felt like
this was a sign- like I was just handed a personal challenge and despite all odds-
overcame. Pretty High right now!

Cliches are cliches because they are true- and I am learning more and more everyday that ........
"things happen for a reason" and  to  "trust the process" - which is huge for this control freak.
Guess I "controlled" everything around me to avoid focusing on me and now I have no
choice but to count myself in!

Thanks all,
Kelsey

I feel the energy in your post.
After 12-hours at the hospital that was a HUGE deal!!
Love the attitude!

I'm a shift worker too, and it is huge. Its a good way to re focus solution before you start your work at home. Good way to clear your head. I hate jogging but I do it to clear my head. Helps me refocus and be more mentally available for my family.

I am not feeling the energy everyone talks about post surgery and not sure why.  Just did my blood workup for my 6 month checkup although I am late.

Congrats on your determination in dealing with the weather.

I have been a Geneen fan since forwever.  Have thought of going to one of her workshops at some point.  Maybe I find a roommate on OH!
