Does anyone know the DIN# for the OptiFast?

Referral: August/2011 Nutrition Class: April 3rd/2012 TWH
Orientation: Jan/11/2012 at TWH Nutrition Assesment: May 15th/2012
Social Worker: March 6th/2012 at TWH Psychologist: May15th/2012
Nurse Practioner: April 3rd/2012 TWH Meeting with Sleep Dr: June 19th/2012
Meeting w Surgeon: Oct 12th/2012 Surgery Date: February 27th/2013

Optifast isn't a drug hence no drug ident number.

yep. no, there isnt one. Can't be claimed on your health insurance.

However, save your prescription from the surgeon....you can claim it as an expense on your income tax!

A related question: can we claim the vitamins we have to take after surgery on our income tax, if we get a doctor to state that we have to take them? They're a medical necessity, right?

Opti has no DIN, you'll likely not be able to get it covered under your drug plan. I posted a little while ago that I was able to cover it through my HSA (Health Spending Account) so if you have that available to you, give it a try.
