So it was the connection or anastomosis site that failed. This is what happened to me 2 days after my RNY.

Wow! I am so glad that you are OK!!!!
I would not have guessed that one could develop a leak so long after the surgery. I am also going to follow further posts to see if you find out why that happened. Makes it scarey for travel.
Hmmm.....

I am so pleased to hear that you stuck with it, and that you kept following it up.

Just imagine if you hadn't.
Recently, my doctors have been rejecting my attempts to get diagnosed for a number of ailments.
They perform one test, and say "oh well, nothing showed up, you must be okay".
And I am expected to shut up and go away.

If you and your doctors hadn't pursued the exploratory surgery, you'd be in BIG TROUBLE by now.

Some people will do anything to see a smokin' hot doctor!! LOL! I know I would! On a more serious note, very glad he was on the ball and fixed you up, Take care and keep is informed.

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora. Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

You got that right! He is smoken hot! He is my surgeon (had surgery on July 19th) I had a problem the sat. night after my surgery which was on a Thursday, incrediable pain and throwing up coffee grinds (sign of blood) and on Sunday morning he came in and took me back to OR to look for any leaks, but didn't find any. He didn't let me go home until he thought I could. Now I am feeling better (still a little sore). Rest assured, He will take good care of you, and give you some eye candy too along with a great personallity!lol
