LOL I know what you mean regarding past eating habits! If you use a colorie counting program most of them split out the nutients, carbs, fats, proteins, etc. I am amazed at the amount of carbs I pick up eating fruits and veggies! So you're not carb free no matter what you do. I have to stay away from sweets (not a big issue right now as they make my tummy churn just looking at them) and will have to for the rest of my life. I used to be able to chug threw a big bag of oreos or fudgeo's easy! If I ever go back to that I will have wasted this wonderful second chance at life, so have no intention of doing that.
You identify a poisen and stay away from it imo!
Regards, Ian

Hi Ian,
I haven't had my surgery yet but I am SO, SO afraid of sugar cravings after the surgery. Are you still craving sweets? Have you tried them? Did you have a dumping event? I am hoping that I have the dumping really badly so that if I do stumble, I will get "punished"! Kinda like Antibuse to an alcoholic!!!

Hello Carol, I do not have sugar cravings, yet. I tried a half a square this past weekend and was greeted with a huge wave of nausea, didn't even enjoy the sugar so am not going there again! I have experienced dumping, not a wonderful experience but it sure teaches what to avoid in quick order. I like to say its like having a tiny surgeon on one shoulder and a tiny dietician on the other both having tasers connected to our tummy, if we screw up! I really don't crave sweets, I find even things like mangos are WAY too sweet for me now, and seriously I could eat a bag of fundeo's no sweat before rny! My taste buds are very different now. I desire (crave would be too strong a word for it) salt, which I never did before. A few baked chips here and there and I'm good, but I do want them on occassion. Enjoy your ride, Regards, Ian
