I was never told chewables were an option so I sucked it up and took regular ones. Mine are the generic brand pre-natal vitamins. Has the most iron I was told.

Question - Hamilton wants me to take a prenatal.  Is there specific things to look for? Are multivitamins fine? It would be a heck of a lot cheaper.  I know with the prenatal they said to make sure it had zinc and selenium.  I'm also supplementing iron

At about three months in Guelph you start on regular sized pre-natal vitamins.  Just had my 1 yr blood work done and my doctor told me today she is so happy with everything including all my levels.  I just suppliment the calcium and Vit B12

I have been using Centrum +50 ( or is it 50+ ?)  Chewable for years but it has no iron and now I am deficient and supplementing...so this time bought Centrum Materna Pre-natal -Postpartum non-chewable horsepills as it has 27gm iron fumarate per pill...and a whole bunch of other good stuff to share with someone living in your body.  Read over the years on here that some people take prenatals post WLS...

What do people think of the Centrum Materna?  Any reason why I should not be taking it as my multivit ( other than I am 66 and not a hope in hell of getting pregnant) ?

I take Bariatric Advantage chewables.

Just curious, how does everyone handle swallowing larger pills? They don't get stuck?

I started cutting them at 8 weeks out.  Then by 3 months I swallow the pills whole and have not had any issues.

Yeah, now I'm confused.  The nurses at TWH said we should only be taking chewables or liquid, but I would rather the swallow type (too sweet even the seniors brand).  And what does depends on how far out mean?  How long is not long enough for larger pills.  Not arguing here, just want to know please?  Thanks.
