Hi Toni,

I take the Jamieson Pre-Natal vitamins. Someone usually has them on sale & I can always find coupons for them on the internet. I have my 3 month follow-up next week so I'll be curious to see what my levels are like for vitamins and minerals.

I was taking a cheapie multivitamin, but I noticed I had a lot of bruising (folic acid in the cheapie was only 100) so I switched back to my horse pill pre natal (800 folic acid).

I literally take a hammer to a pill every morning (in a baggie) and eat the pieces.

I really should invest in a pill cutter.

Crushing pills just makes them taste terrible.

I am still taking the Kirkland Materna vits until my next appointment and see what they say.  I cut mine in half so that I am not peeing most of the nutrients out.  I take half with breakfast and half with dinner.

I've been taking chewables but they give me killer heartburn. The nutritionist at TWH told me I could take pills whole once I'm finished the soft food stage. Oddly enough, post op at St Mikes they gave me pills whole. Who knows!?!

I think it's what you can tolerate, after all, technically they dissolve in your stomach.

I can tolerate most of my supplements as is, but the horse pill MVI I know, from bitter experience, it needs cutting.

I was told by my NUT that the chewables were a must, so I started with the Centrum Silver 50+ chewables - but as has ben pointed out, they have little iron.
So the NUT recommended that I switch to the Spectrum 50+ chewables, which I have done (2 a day).

So far, no need for iron supplements, (Thank God - constipation is already an issue - add iron and I'm really stuck!)

 Prenatal's from Costco.

My Blood Work at 5 months was perfect.  Better than prior to surgery infact.

I also do Calcium, D and B12.
