Don't worry, it'll get easier with time. I had my surgery July 20th and I found the first week or so post-op very difficult for getting all the protein in. Just do what you can.... Sip protein shakes throughout the day. I'm sorry I don't actually have any helpful tips other than to say hang in there.

I am 8 days post-op and I put unflavoured protein powder on everything.  1 tsp in every 1/4 cup.  I do this 6x a day and I did the math, it gives me about 25 grams of protein/day.  Plus I can only get in 1 protein shake... yuk!  and that brings me up to 50 grams/day.  Then I just hope that all the cottage cheese, pudding, milk, yogurt etc. give me the rest.  Believe me, I know how hard it is.  Keep working on it.  You're only 3 days out, I certainly wasn't doing this until day 4-5ish.  Good luck!

I'm kind of side tracking this post, but I hope the answers will be helpful, all around.
What does "all your protein" look like?  I know people rhyme off grams, etc...but could anyone out there give a "sample" menu of what having all of the protein required, looks like?   Thanks.  I guess that you (Donna) are not too far out though so your proteins would be more limited still.

I'm 2 months post surgery and I'm not getting all my protein in.

You're only 3 days out, give your tummy a break. Take care.

3 days??? I think the main thing this early is fluid.  Don't get dehydrated.  You would be on clear fluids so I don't know how you could get close to the goal of protien.  I am one month post op and am just now getting closer. I may start a protien shake too as soon as I can get (or get my husband to get there)  to Costco.
