Achy elbows.

Has anyone experienced achy elbow joints after weight loss. I have what feels like tendinitis in my elbows. It is really putting a damper on my weight routine, so I have been just running lately.

I figure I am missing something in my diet or supplements. My blood test came back good from my family doctor. Iron is okay etc etc.

Ummm, could it be that you have strained the ligaments through workout?  You may want to discuss this with your family doctor.

this may be totally off base but...

my shoulders and elbows are sore... I mentioned it to the chiropractor and his explanation was this...

when we were bigger we had a lot of extra tissue holding things tight... now that there is less tissue (i am sure he means fat but was being polite) the ligaments are looser and will tighten up in time... because i have dislocated my shoulder and tore my rotator cuff he cautioned mt to be extra careful my chance of re injury is really high right now

Judy is right about getting it checked out... Once that is done and they rule out injury it comes down to this:

Dee has it bang on...

Reality is that you basically had your own built in compression garment. You no longer have that.

You should seriously consider looking into elbow support for the time that you are working with weights. If you ever see serious power lifters... You will notice many wear them when training.

For me... Even losing 10 lbs will shift my spine and hips and cause some mild-moderate pain for a bit. Things settle in, and I am ok for a bit. Until I lose and things shift again. My way of coping is to use support garments. Boning, a level of compression, and a fair amount of structure.

Do always get pain checked out because your body is trying to tell you to pay attention but once you've established it is growing pains/shrinking pains... Support is what you need to do. In truth we shoud be supporting our bodies when we weight train as we hit higher amounts anyway. I use to wrap my wrists, and occasionally my ankles. Thankfully they now have much easier ways to get support for the joints.
