Back from the bahamas...but

Got back from the Bahamas last night. I had a great time. Lots of food I could eat, some not my choice in regards to low fat or no sugar. I stuck with salads, soups and eggs.

The only problem was the alcohol. I am not going to lie to you, I drank my share. I stayed away from the fruity drinks. Brought my own ceasar mix and drank ceasars. I had an abrupt awakening when I found myself slipping on some wet tile and used my chin to break my fall. Alcohol was definately a factor. My room looked like a csi episode, trail of blood everywhere. It was almost like I blacked out. Scary stuff.

Now I know my limits. Lesson learned. So I paced myself. Still managed to dance till 3am and get up at early enough to enjoy the full day. I can't remember when I last did that.

I just thought I would share, as some of you may be thinking about the effects of alcohol post surgery. I can say to tread lightly or not at all. I am going to dry out, rehydrate and get back to my usual routeen.

While drinking too much is never advised, Jason is at least, 6 months out and at goal.  Quite a difference!

Glad you had fun (and learned a lesson), Jason!

Just like to point out Jason is not even 4 months Post Op.

And not sure being at goal is the concern with drinking.

Don't mean to rat you out Jason.  Just stating the facts.  And another fact is you have done amazing. But your 6 month will be in November.

So my suggestion go back to the Bahamas then and repeat the experience, pretending this one never happened.  Cause you know we all follow all of the rulles all of the time.

( I too had my first drink around 4 months 2 WHOLE smirnoff ices in once night.  Took to long to drink them so have not repeated the process.  Huge waste of money for me, I go dancing and drink lots of water.  5 bottles one night.))

Being at goal makes a huge difference when it comes to alcohol.  It doesn't make a difference about how fast you get drunk, etc but it does make a difference to your liver.  During rapid weight loss your liver is working overtime so it doesn't need alcohol to have to deal with as well.  Once at goal the liver is no longer working overtime and can then start to process alcohol a lot easier.  I have no idea what the centres are suggesting as for alcohol but I waited until I lost my weight to have my first drink and don't regret it for a second. I kind of like my liver and dont want to damage it.
