I'd see your GP because he can probably get you through ER faster, and or may have admitting privileges at a hospital. You could go to ER and still be waiting by 2 pm. Stomach aches get low priority.
Keep drinking your fluids. If you feel agonizing pain, peritonitis (stiffness) then of course ER.

exactly! A brief problem after surgery, and then like clockwor****il a month ago. So sudden too, without changes in eating. It's a concern, and keep us posted please.

Hi Karen,
Unless your GP is very knowledgable of Bariatric Surgery and it's complications, I'd go to the ER. They can get tests ordered and done a lot quicker than your GP. At my hospital at least, a GP wouldn't get you through ER any faster than a walk in. And make sure you keep your Surgeon's name/number or WLC number with you when you go, so that they can consult if needed.
If you are comfortable with your GP, then since you have the appointment, you could wait. You could also call your WLC and ask them.
Good luck!

I don't *have* a WLC. I went through 6.5 years ago - things were very different. :)

i would go to the ER.
Even if your GP sees you and does determine its a blockage, can he clear it in his office ?
He would send you to the hosp no ??
Skip the middleman, go to ER where they can take care of it immediately.
Your health very important.
