Why other people feel my weightloss is their business!
Well it's difficult but don't let it bother you. Of course it's no one's business but your own and the condesending comment about you not messing it up is compleatly out of line. Just remember that you decide how you feel and the ignorance of some people isn't worth getting exercised over. There will be ten more like this one crossing your path as time goes by. Rest assured they create their own problems and have to ask "why me?" more often than some.
You've come a long way and you've orchestrated the whole change in lifestyle yourself for youself. That's quite an accomplishment, so don't let some dopey comment from someone not even close to you bother you. Enjoy your deserved sucesses and let the less than qualified mutter on as they will.

Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be.

Wow, that's amazing! Good response, too. I think, from how you described her reaction to your response, that she'll think twice before lecturing anyone else about their diet!

Great answer Marny,
I have been getting the "stop losing weight" from my never overweight sister lately and I told her it was none of her business and my doctor and I will figure it out together. Jeez, I am not even in a normal BMI yet and she feels she know best. I find family watch everything I eat. I am really glad I didn't tell many people as I don't need food police everywhere. It is funny, I tell strangers about my surgery more than friends or acquaintances. Sorry you had to go through this.

people are plainly RUDE..they were rude before you lost your weight and many will continue to stick their noses in your business when you don't even know them
...just a part of what people do...
I give you KUDOS to her for what you said..I would be the same way..I have used the
"seriously I don't believe it's any of your business"
I work in a an environment where it's predominantly women and they feel they have the "right to know"...well when I had my surgery only two people knew....and in Dec when I go off on leave to have a hysterectomy...all I am offerring to the BUSY BODIES is it's surgery.~!!!
People are judgemental when they don't have the right to be...and the sooner you haden yourself and are able to give responses like you did...the easier it becomes.
I still encounter people who I haven't seen in the 3 years since i have had surgery and when they say "wow you have lost a lot of weight" I simply say yes...and it's a daily struggle.
all the best~!~
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!
