It's kind of carb/sugar heavy, try to find one that doesn't. You might dump on those, if you're sensitive to sugars. How much sugar does the label say?

Watch the sugar if you are buying them already prepared. I would probably avoid the Heinz ones with maple syrup. When I was on soft foods, I made my own beans. I bought dried pinto beans and did them in the crock pot. 2 cups beans + 6 cups water, cook on high for 7 hours. Add any seasonings you like, chili powder or cumin, maybe dice an onion too. Cheap, easy and no sugar.

Not sure about the label. Im heading out to the store today. I will look and make sure its below 7g sugar per serving. I think thats the number i need to stay under

I wouldn't chance it.  You could get the low fat refried beans then warm them up in the oven and melt some cheese on top.  Way less sugar.

Haha... I was going to make this exact recommendation! I love refried beans with cheese and a bit of guacamole or sour cream during the soft stage!

It's good isn't it?  I loved it for soft stage.

It's more the sugar than the fat that is the concern. Get a can of refried beans, load it up with cheese and guacamole and you'll have a delicious meal with healthy fat and lots of protein!
