Question re. our forum

Hi friends,

I've been thinking about this a little lately and have been wondering - are there those of you who feel nervous or uncomfortable about making a post?  Asking a question?  Joining into a funny thread?

If so, if you feel comfortable sharing why, I would love to hear from you.  It's okay it you're not.

Also, how can those of us to tend to post frequently make you feel welcome and comfortable?

Just wonderin'.

For me I only participate if I have something useful to add.  I am pre-op so my scope is limited lol.  When it isn't a medical related thread I kind of feel like I'm budding in on a personal conversation for lack of a better way to explain it.  There is a group that I imagine has been here awhile and appear close, and I guess I'm not pushy lol.  Having said that, that doesn't mean I won't post if I need help or can offer help.

You ask how you can make a newbie feel comfortable or welcome, but that would imply that the vets don't which I don't believe is the case.  It's not like it's something they do that makes me feel that way it's just my personality.

Of course this is just my opinion, take it for what it is lol.  I check here multiple times a day and sometimes just lurking helps me too!

Thanks for asking Karen!  I am curious how others feel, maybe it's just me ;)

You're right - there are some of us who have been here awhile and are close - but that sure doesn't mean we're not looking for new partners-in-crim - OH, I mean FRIENDS!  Join in anytime! I'd love to get to know you. :)

Thanks!  It probably is more of a reflection of my personality, shy in life shy on here!

Well, from what I've seen of your posts, you're a very sensitive, caring person.  So there.  You have lots to offer. :)

personally, I find it very cliquey here and I never fit into cliques.. it is just not my thang.. I like all of you, though! :)

I normally have a thick skin but when a popular member of the board bans a person for a jokingly one emoticon reply it tends to make one NOT want to post in fear that they say the wrong thing..  (PS: he banned me for replying ""  (as a joke) when he misread the original posters message)

PS: I still read all the time everyday...

MEH.... screw em, if they take it the wrong way... I figure if your going to block me because of something I said... you OBVIOUSLY don't have a sense of humor and who wants ya... you know what I mean... I always find everything you say absolutely fine and you should post... besides asshold already banned you right?? so not like he's gonna see your point of view anyway...

(PS I love poor grammer and run on sentences... just sayin)

I had no idea you felt that way re. cliquey.  It kinda gives me a sad because I think we all want everyone to feel welcome, accepted, part of the gang.

P.S.  Do NOT allow that person to take up any more space in that wonderful head of yours.  Totally and completely not worth it and I would SO rather see you participating - your sense of humour amuses me! xo

You know it's not all that cliquey.. I can't put my finger on it..  I like this message board and like someone else said.. they are a good listener.. I tend to like to fill my brain with research and listen.. but will do better to interact more.. because I like it here!
