Debra, I am a newbie too but here's how I justify the vanilla. First I can't just eat the plain. I use it in smoothies and with some raspberries or banana. Did you know a banana has like 50g carbs? So I look at the 20+grams of carbs per serving of the vanilla as lower than adding a fruit, so I sleep at night having it once every second day or so for snack. Can't advise you but that's my twisted way of justifying it. I mean really, a lot of foods have huge carb counts that can fit in a small serving when you include it in your daily totals and its a big exercise day myfitnesspal.com tells me its OK. Its not OK to binge on it, its not OK to abuse it but I forgive myself for eating it in small amounts because m total daily count is good and I am exercising my ass off (literally)!

Psssst..... it does have too much sugar in it. Buy the plain and sweeten it with Splenda or a sugar free flavoured syrup. :)

I'm gradually posting more, but it takes a while to get the feel of a message board, at least in my experience it does. I tend to be short and to the point. I don't make long posts, so it may take a while for someone to get to know me.
I admit that at first I did feel uncomfortable asking a question because there were several posts I read in which people were saying the person asking the question should have used the search function first instead of posting a question. There seemed to be a few attacks. I think, as I have got to 'know' people a bit better, I understand where they are coming from now and don't see it that way. Text is so open for interpretation, as we don't have body language, intonation, eye contact etc to go by.
All in all, I really enjoy this board and see it as a valuable part of my support network.
