By tomorrow? Sure, no problem.  Recalibrate your scale. LOL

angry for maintaining 6.5 yrs.

Not everyone can do this. And I see a lot of posts where people are getting really upset over one or two pounds.

You, my dear friend, have the ability to utilize the scale as the tool was meant to be used.

Not all do,, and my personal suggestion to "throw out the scale" is aimed at those who become so emotionally distraught over that half pound, that they get severely twisted over those numbers. It becomes not the tool for accountability but the tool for self destruct

shall we call "stalemate" and move on?

The comment wasn't directed at you - MANY people are saying the same thing.  I simply disagree.

He is rather cute, isn't he.

i agree that the scale is a valuable tool, for accountability. It's too easy to ignore those pounds that creep on, by putting on a stretchier pair of jeans, and telling ourselves "i dont know why i don't like those pants any more, they used to be my favourite but now they just fit different", and then lo and behold, all of a sudden you're in a size 16 again.

However, some people are uber-obsessed with those wee little pounds that come in and out, on and off, and they think they're gaining when they're really just fluctuating. the first few months out, you should weigh yourself once a week at the most, if you're one of those obsessive types.

Do not throw it away. If you can accept that it lies to you sometimes, that you need to look at trends, rather than individual numbers, then keep it.

lol - the scale is my friend. And I am only 8 weeks out. I weigh myself everyday knowing very well that it will fluctuate. (and I am ok with that****ep track of it and once a week and then will calculate. Sometimes it is a hefty amount - sometimes it is now.  It is fun to see that sometimes not a lot goes - but then sometimes I am surprised. :)

I hear, and I obey! :)

Seriously - I wasn't going to weigh myself at all and just get the updates when I went for check ups.  I'm one of those ones who obsesses with every little fluctuation, even when I tell myself not to.  But honestly, it's just too difficult not to.  So I'm probably right around your once a week guideline, and I'm not even sure the scale I'm using is accurate - it's just making sure I'm in the right direction, so that I don't obsess.

Always good to have a reality check from a vet.  Thanks Karen!

I totally agree, I weigh myself every morning.  I am not obsessed but it keeps me on track.

Well I guess one of these days someone is going to have to tell me how much I DO weigh... because I still don't know. I have my physiotherapist at the clinic weight me every couple of weeks and she does NOT tell me how much I weigh.

I watch what I eat and keep track of it.. and if I "stall"? I stall. It's part of this process and Im not getting all bent out over it

Well, I have to laugh a little and ask, why do you have a weight loss ticker in your signature then??

Because when I first joined, everyone had one and I thought it was kind of a cool idea. Don't ya like it? I don't know how to move it anyhow lol

And it's purdy. And I like dolphins. And fishes too

But as I traverse this slippery slope of potential emotional roller coastering (like I don't have enough to shuffle around onboard the "U.S.S. Darterprize") around the weight and pounds, I decided early after that that I wasn't going to get into all of that weighing daily etc.

Now having said that, I'm listening to your post thinking "Maybe I should get a scale" for accountability but then I do watch my caloric instake etc

So I'm using a tool, just not yours.
