Hi everyone!!

I've been reading the message boards since July but never had the nerve to post or comment on anything but figured it's about time now.

It is amazing to read and hear the success stories from the vets on here even when it's not something we rookies want to hear. But knowing that if you have an issue or a question someone will have the answer and I'm very grateful for that.

I'm having RNY on December 10 @ HRRH and I can't wait for the day to come. It seems like such a long journey but I know mine has been shorter than many unfortunate people in Ontario.

Now starting Opti on monday....that I'm not too excited for. LOL

Welcome;

Opti isn't as bad as you think, you do get used to it, and it helps you get used to the lack of food for the coming weeks after surgery.

Good luck on the 10th and it will approach quickly.

Chapstick for the hospital...just remember the chapstick

Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

Hi OH Friend!   I feel like I have been waiting way too long already!  Really 12 years looking into this!  But anyhow I phoned first thing in the morning right after Orientation on the 18th and they gave me that date.  In fact they told me to come back the next day for the Group Nut Class but I opted for the following Monday.  It sure would be nice to follow through with some of these OH friends and we wouldn't be strangers in the hospital room.  I guess you won't get you 2nd appointments for 8 weeks after the 1st Group of 3, then some even have a 3rd appointment with the Nutritionist.  Some I see really get going though after the 2nd set of Nut/Soc/Nurse and within a couple of weeks meet the surgeon. I am hoping I get to meet the Doc in January!  Then get the operation in February....seems like some get it within a month or less of meeting the surgeon (time enough for 2-3 weeks of Optifast).  Any how I am not very forward or assertive....just luck I guess??

Wow, this year is yours! Think u may have an angel looking out for u? Way to go! I am on the cancellation list so hoping that something might come up sooner?? How did the class go? Is that a large group session as like the orientation? Patience is not one of my strong points! LOL
