Surgery Time? When to stop Opti?
For those of you who have had surgery...when do you usually find out what time you are booked for? I go in next Friday, (the 14th) and still don't know.
When do you stop the Opti? Day before? I know nothing past midnight, I just thought clear fluids would have been a little longer? Is tis something your surgeon usually lets you know?
I went through Ottawa and they called me with the time the day before. I had to stop the Opti before midnight the day before.

I found out my surgery date and surgery time right after I had seen my surgeon.
I was on opti-fast for 6 weeks and it was a few weeks before that. My last package of opti-fast
was the evening before surgery, then I was NPO after midnight. My surgery was booked for
12:30 but things were running ahead of time so I ended up going in around 11:00.
I'm sure you will find out soon, Good Luck on your journey ![]()

If you are in Ottawa, you stop Optifast the latest midnight before surgery. You will receive a booklet about the surgery. My book was annotated to indicate that I should have up to 2 cups of water the morning before surgery. I did that before going to the hospital at 6 a.m. Then I was given some antibiotics while they prepped me for surgery, so I had a few more sips of water to swallow the pills.
It was a real handy booklet as it covered everything. I read, and reread it. I received it at PATTS.
Good luck.
Judy
