Bariatric Registry Question

I went to the doctor on December 21st for a referral to the registry.  I read on the Ontario Bariatric Registry website that it takes three to six months for an initial contact from them.  Is that accurate?  What has been other peoples experiences in wait time for first contact.

Yes. I saw my GP in June 2012.  I didn't get a call until December for the Orientation. I went to the orientation on December 17 th. They called me on the 24th to book me in with the surgeon.  I see him Wednesday.

You have an apt with social worker already booked? I don't get their process and how they decide these things.

I have an appointment on the 30th with all three, the SW, Diet and the Nut.  I have been trying to figure things out too!!  LOL

It sounds like you're close to getting a day. You already met the surgeon.

I'm nervous that they will refuse me. I went through colon cancer 2 years ago.  I finished all treatment in March 2011 and I also had an Ostomy bag. 

I was feeling confident and hoping to have the surgery by March. I'm not sure what to think.  I guess I'll find out Wednesday.

I will think of you and send good vibes to you!!  Let me know how it goes for you!  I met with the surgeon already.  It seems like you goes really fast than a stall and fast again and than another stall. LOL  Just like the weight loss I guess. LOL

Hello, I was referred to the registry September 2011, finally heard from them October 2012, it is a long process and I still have not got a surgery date. The people on here are great very informative, I find the waiting times vary.

Smarkone- Have you seen the doctor? I wonder why it varies from person to person? I thought they had the registry in place for this reason. You're un a cue type of list?

I had my orientation October 29, saw the surgeon on November 13, the dietician, nurse, and social worker a couple weeks later and now I  go to see Dr Glazier on Jan 29th. I dont know why the wait times vary, I had my doctors office call a few times because I thought they may have lost me in the system.
