Did You Purée Your Own Food

Ok, so I don't even have a surgery date yet but I'm thinking ahead to the puréed stage of eating. Did anyone purée their own foods? If so, what type of blender/chopper/food processor did you use?  Since I don't own any of these things, I'm trying to find out which thing works best at a decent price.

I did blend my own (don't care for babyfood) and I have a mini cuisinart. It does not hold that much but it will do the trick. Also great to make your own hummus. I liked it because I can add some spices to my food. Keep in mind that you do not need it for a long time - so see if you can find a good deal - or borrow one from a friend. I did freeze my food in ice cube trays and then transferred it into plastic ziploc bags.

I went through the Ottawa Clinic so I didn't really do the pureed stage. In Ottawa they allow us to move through the stages as quickly or as slowly as our pouches will allow so I personally went from the soft food stage to eating very moist but regular foods.  I had chili and pulled pork type, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs and meatloaf instead.

Guess it truly depends on your clinic and whether you can eat pureed.

That which i am running through it... Is run through my magic bullet.

I'm huge on texture and this stage is tough for me but way better for flavour and variety.

Soups work... It is the transition to the next phase that gets interesting.

I have a Breville Hemishpere blender.  I burnt a baby bullet out and was never really happy with the job it did on my smoothies.  The Breville is more expensive but imo worth every penny.

I loved my bullet. I used it for my optifast too. It came with different size containers which worked well. When I was on puree I lived on Wendy;s chili which I did not need to puree and shrimp which I did not need to either.  With the bullet I use it for smoothy too. I would not buy something too expensive,

I did not like the babyfood puree
