How many hours between meals/snacks?

Hi there!

Was just wondering how much time you allow to pass between meals and snacks? My rule of thumb thus far has been two hours. Lately I've sort of panicked and thought "what if this is stretching my pouch?"

Afternoons are tough. I eat lunch at noon, hit the gym after school at 3, and eat supper at 6. I eat a protein bar before the gym, but on a day off I had the protein bar immediately after the gym and found my hunger much more manageable for the evening. But I don't want to add more snacks.

I eat at the folowing times
6am - Breakfast
9am - snack
12:30 - lunch
3-3:30 - snack
6pm - supper
9 pm - snack
If I am going to the gym after work (at 5) I sometimes have part before and part after. THis leaves me not to hungery and not with to much in my belly for the gym.
The time between won't stretch you as much as quantity. In my opinion.

I have breakfast around 8-8:30, and if I want a snake I have it around 11 ish. But lots of times I don't need one now before lunch.  I haven't got my hunger back yet.  But I get munchie at night and am watching out for that.

Oh Brenda, I wonder if the snake has a rating for protein!!  LOL  snake = snack.

Here's my normal eating pattern:

7:30 - Breakfast

9:30/10:00 - Snack

12:00 - Lunch

2:00 - Snack

4:00 - Protein drink if I'm headed to the track for a run

6:00 - Dinner

8:00/9:00 - Snack

So I think about every 2-2.5 hours is good!  I couldn't go more than 3 hours without eating during the day right now, with the small amounts I eat at one time!

Everyone is different but I find every two hours. Sometimes three if I'm busy
