I wish I could say he wont...but I just dont know. I have allergies and a think neck, and thats prob why I had to go. Sounds funny but a heavy neck is one of the factors that cause SA. Lets hope he doesnt mention it and you will be good to go. Either way, he wont compromise your surgery, just another appt to squeeze in. I still havent heard back about my results, no news is good news !!!

I read about neck circumference being a factor in having (or not having) sleep apnea.  I read that women with 16 inches and larger are more prone to it.  My neck is only 12 so hopefully he'll let it slide.  My weight is literally all in my ass and hips.  Want to bet your surgery will come and go with no mention of the sleep study results :)  Once you lose weight, the apnea will more then likely go away, if you even have it.

Hi Sylvie, that's great news, I know you were hoping for something like this.  Well, it won't be too long now.

Congratulations!   See you Saturday.

That's so awesome, Sylvie. I love that you're so excited - my surgery is on Monday and I can't freakin' wait LOL. We're both at HRRH but I'm with Dr. Starr. HIs assistants were awesome too, booking surgery for me around when my family was able to make the trip from Ottawa to come wait on me hand and foot after surgery hehe. Who the heck wants to be alone after that kind of surgery???? Sounds like you probably won't have to go for a sleep study. I did one 2 yrs ago and it came back clear, no apnea, which surprised the sleep clinic doctor, given my weight. Thank god no one made me go for a new one for this surgery. Its not the worst procedure to have done, but you do have 5 million electrodes attached to your body with this sticky paste and its super hard to go to the bathroom all hooked up like that. But the staff where I went were really nice and helpful. Anyway, hopefully you don't have to!!

Super happy for you!

Cheers,

Andrea
