I am annoyed that this company clearly used a normal sized male model and put stuffing into his clothes to make him look overweight, instead of using an actual plus model. That alone would prevent me from buying anything from them.

The seatbelt extenders are the key. Last year i didnt ask and it was tight, this year i did ask both ways and it was much more comfortable. I was travelling with friends and this year the arm rests lifted and it was not as bad as i expected. Enjoy.

I have flown Sunwing a couple of times pre-surgery.  I had always pre-booked the premium seats at the front just for the extra leg room.  I always book an aisle.  As mentioned just don't book the buklhead for the very reason mentioned.  I mad the mistake and got the bulkhead instead of the next row back and actually couldn't fit in the seat.  The plane was full and I was in tears.  I was very lucky my husband discovered the window seat arm actually could be raised and it gave me just enough room.

When you enter the plane and the flight attendant asks to see your boarding pass mention you need the belt extender and they will bring it to you very discreetly.  It was never a problem on any plane I flew on prior to surgery.  Since you are going with friends you should have no problem raising the arm rests to give you a little bit more room.

Have fun on your trip!
