Vitamins
Hey all I am one year and two months out from surgery and have no regrets just many thanks for the choice and option to have surery. I was recently at the one year appointment and was told I could be taking regular vitamins. I was so excited to be off the chalky calcium pills and found some calcium citrateLlife brand pills... but I struggle to get them down. I received a call from the dietician saying my vitamin a and zinc were low.
What multi's is everyone taking? I think I would like to go back to chewable... i can't get over how long it takes me to swallow the calcium and that is with breaking it up. I have been taking the Women's Once a Day and have stuck with the Bariatric iron. The dietician did say that a prenatal vitamin would be good for numbers but again it is a pill to swallow if I remember...
Please share your recommendations (and where to get them) for multi's. I am looking for good iron numbers and as many vitamins and minerals packed into one (chewable) pill.
Thanks for sharing,

I take Centrum 50+ (because of the higher minerals etc.) chewable. They have them at Costco and Walmart. Despite these (twice a day) my vit. A was also very low . I also take extra iron (feramax) - extra vit. D - Biotin - tried zinc (but it constipates too much for me - and my zinc was not bad).
I just ordered the Bariatric Advantage vitamins off Amazon.ca. I figure they are formulated for bariatric patients so they have what's need in them. They come in orange and berry chewables and non chewables as well.
I take the same and have for 4 years....I am fortunate to live close to the USA border, so I have them shipped there and drive across and pick them up~!
they haven't failed me yet...and I would rather take something formulated for a bariatric patient than a 50 yr old or a pregnant woman (JMO)
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!

I was on both the Bariatric and centrum. I stopped taking the Bariatric because it was difficult to get the the hospital to get the Bariatrics, that is great to know I can get it on Amazon. I was on the Centrum before my one year I wonder if thay are low in A and zinc as those were my results too... or it could just be me. Thanks for sharing.
I take a pprenatal vitamin has it has lots of vitamins and iron included. es it is pill form but I have no issue swallowing pills.

I take equate brand pre natal vitamins. for $15 you get 275 (I think) and you only need one a day and unlike some multi vitamins, I find them smaller. I have no problem swallowing pills but they are almost half the size as my calcium citrate pills
