How much protein is in 2 tbs of unflavoured protein powder from bulk barn?
I am no longer tolerating premier protein shakes. I was fine but now I'm looking for alternate protein sources! I bought the unflavoured protein at bulk barn and added 2 tbs to jello Sf pudding. How much protein would that equal? Can I add this unflavoured protein to say, tomato soup? Any ideas on how to make the premier more palatable?
Thanks for your responses!
Iam 5 days out.
Every protein mix is different. You should contact the store and ask them to be sure you have the correct information.
here is the nutritional information
http://www.bulkbarn.ca/en-ca/products.html?product=3300
100g = 93g of protein
100g = 6.66 tablesppons
93g divided by 6.6 = 14.09
So it works about the be about 14g of protein per tablespoon
Tracey is right about the numbers.
There was so much discussion on this that our support group weighed and measured it.
You cannot do a direct division due to different things weighing the different amounts. Everything has different density etc.
We bought the 100 g and bought 100 grams and then measured out by leveled measured tablespoon.
It is indeed 5.2.

Sarah, I like the bulk barn protein powder, you can buy a small amount at a time and I use it in my oatmeal in the morning. As for premier, it is IMO the best tasting protein drink there is so if you are having trouble with it you may have difficulty finding others you like. I know some folks add it to there coffee and have a protein coffee another trick might be to pour it over lots of ice cubes to have it really really cold. Best of Luck.

Each of us has different abilities to eat and tolerate some foods post WLS. I can not stand commercial protein bars or premier shakes, they are way too sweet (and pre WLS I could eat a bag of fudgeeos easy). I use 3 products from GNC, promasil vanilla soft serve for home made smoothies, their chocolate for home made protein bars and whey ISO Burst as an unflavored one that I add to oatmeal and soups. The trick I have found with adding the iso burst is to heat the food without the protein powder in it and adding it after the heating process is done, it dissolves and doesn't foam up. Heal well!
