Eeeek! Stay away!

Tonight after my Skyrobics class, my husband and I stopped at the drive through at Tim's.  He was hungry and debated getting one of their new grilled cheese, bacon, and tomato panini, but thankfully decided not to.  Out of curiosity, I looked on their website for the nut. stats when we got home.   Ack!!!!

600 calories, 30 grams of fat, 58 carbs!!   That's more than a Big Mac!  I checked it out.

Tell your loved ones to stay the heck away!  LoL

No, no.  I would never be able to eat that!  I wouldn't be able to get through even half of a half of that even if I wanted too.

I have been tracking my food religiously and exercising a ton lately.  This has inspired my hubby to try monitoring his foods as well. I looked up the info for HIM, not me.  That's why I said "Tell your loved ones to stay away".

If I'm in a pickle and need to get something for lunch. I will take the small chili and eat 1/2 of it. Not too bad.

Chili (Tim Horton's)

Serving Size: 10 oz, Calories: 300, Fat:  19g, Carbs:  17g, Protein:  26g   That's is for the "whole" thing. So I will eat 1/2 of that. High in fat - but as I said... it is when I'm stuck for lunch.

Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

I don't really like the Tim's chili myself (just my preference).  Wendy's chili has much better stats if you like chili.

I've actually tried the grilled cheese panini from Tim's and it was gross. I was in a pinch one day at work, had forgotten my lunch and just needed some protein.... fast!! So when I got the grilled cheese, it was a very thin layer of what looked like Cheez Whiz or a Kraft Single, and the whole thing was soggy with margarine. I tried scraping off the cheese so I could ditch the bread, but the cheese was so thin it was actually adhered to the bread. I took one bite and tossed the rest. Yuck. Now I am always diligent about having back up protein sources at work.

ETA: I suck at typing in bed!

Thanks Marny, i find with all fast food that the pictures look so much better then it actually tastes...and I haven't had that kind of fast food in awhile....The only fast food i have now is the Wendy's chili and i agree it is much better then Tim's.  It is not as thick..

How was skyrobics?  I am off to MB this weekend, so had a few things to do..but I plan to go back again.

BTW, did you see the post on craving change workshop in Kitchener starting in May?  I did go to the workshop before, but am thinking of going back, because i need a refresther.  If you want to go, i don't mind driving...

Anyway, have a few things to do today to get ready for my trip....Take care..Liz

Skyrobics was fun as usual.  :)  I roped my hubby into coming with me and he marveled at what a good workout it was!  He's a bit sore this morning.  lol

My thoughts about that sandwich is that while I know I cannot have it, I probably would have fed it to my kids thinking it was just a grilled cheese sandwich, but wow...I did not think it would be THAT bad.  Boy was I wrong.

I did not see that workshop posted.  I'll have to check it out.  Sounds like a good idea.  Things have been going so much better since our meeting.  I am getting all water and vitamins and water in without fail.  I also have been tracking my food on Spark People (every last morsel that I put in my mouth), and I am proud to say that I have lost 6 pounds!  Woo Hoo! I thought it was impossible, but at long last, the scale seems to be moving again.  Phewf!

Have a safe trip to MB, and hopefully I'll see you in the near future. :)

My go-to "fast food" when I'm hungry and need to grab something quick is to go to a supermarket with a ready made food aisle and get either a whole or half rotisserie chicken.  Ready-to-eat, tastes great, healthy and filling, tons of protein, and just as fast as the fast food chains, and you even get leftovers since I can usually only eat about 1/8 of a chicken at a time!  And most supermarkets carry them now.
