I made protein ice cream!

I made my first ever batch of protein ice cream using Egg Face's tips.  It was amazing!!  Here's what I did.......

I put one cup of 2% milk, a heaping tablespoon of cocoa, 2 scoops of Syntrax Chocolate Truffle protein powder, a bit of Davinci Cookie Dough syrup, and about 1 TBSP of melted peanut butter into my bullet.  I mixed it up for a good long while.  Then I poured it into my little Hamilton Beach ice cream maker (whose bowls I had been freezing since yesterday), and turned it on.  In about 15 minutes it was a very soft, serve consistency.  I put it in the freezer for about 2 hours, and voila!  Scoopable ice cream, that does and excellent job of quelling the ice cream craving!

Thanks for posting that, Marny!

What does an ice cream maker do? I don't own one, and I'm hoping I can re-create your concoction a different way ...

This is the one I have by Hamilton Beach.  I bought it last summer for $25 at Walmart, but just tried it out last night.  It makes a half-pint.  The bottom part is double-walled, with a non-stick coating inside.  It comes with 2 bowls and recommends you keep them in the freezer all the time so they are always ready to be used.  The lid only has an on/off switch and it had a paddle attached.  Once you pour the ice cream mixture in the pre-frozen bowl, you put the lid on, hit the switch, and the paddle moves round and round.   It takes about 15 minutes for soft serve-like ice cream and then remove it to a plastic tub (using a plastic spoon), and put it the freezer another hour for a firm, scoopable ice cream.  I think I should have chilled my mixture first before adding it to the machine, and it would have had a slightly better consistency.
