TWH Facebook?

Hi everyone - hope you are all enjoying the long weekend!

Just wondering if anyone knows of a Facebook page for the program at TWH? I was only referred by my GP last week but I am super anxious to get as much info as possible (I find reading helps calm the anxiety!) I'm especially curious about the wait times at TWH and what others are experiencing there. I have been reading a lot of the posts here, but so far haven't come across much about wait times or how long it takes to get an orientation date. In case you can't tell, patience isn't one of my virtues and I am really ready to get the ball rolling - waiting weeks for an orientation date is going to drive me nuts!!

Anyway, if anyone knows of a FB group?

Would love to add you but your email address isn't bringing anything up in the Facebook search bar... Can't seem to find a place to search just by email for people. Is there another way of finding you?

Do you know for sure you will be at TWH since your doctor just referred you to the Bariatric Registry.

Also look below it gives you an idea of my wait times from time I was referred to the time I had surgery at TWH. it is common for wait times from time referred till surgery being anywhere from 7 months -1 year as long as they do not want you to have any other tests.

Referral- March 2012, Letter April 19, Orientation TWH- June 6, NP - July 3, Sleep Apena test July 16, Internist and SW - July 17, Nutritional class - July 23, Dietician appt. July 30th, Psych-Social appt - Aug 20th. Follow up with doctor sleep apena Aug. 28th Surgeons appt. - Dec. 14th Dr. Jackson. Surgery date - Feb 12 2013 - VSG

True, I don't know for sure if I'll be at TWH. I used to the postal code finder on the bariatric registry's website and it came up Toronto Western, but there is the chance I could be assigned somewhere else?

Thanks - 7 months to a year seems like forever to me right now, but maybe once the process starts it won't seem as long :)

I had my orientation at TWH, as well as all my appointments. However, even though I live in Mississauga, I will be having my surgery at TEH. My orientation took place in October and I'm having my surgery in September. It's amazing how fast that time has gone.
