Live alone
My personal experience is that it's good to have someone around for the first few days, but after that I was fine. And even the first few days, I was up and getting myself stuff. The good thing to have people around for the first week about is if you need them to run an errand for you or something. The first day home, my mom and husband made a big fuss about getting my lunch for me, but by that evening, I was up and preparing my own food - not that they weren't willing, but I wanted to do as much for myself as I could. They also accompanied me on all my walks around the block for the first week because they were worried that I might suddenly get weak or something.
So having your sister around for the first week will be good, but you should be fine on your own after that. My husband took two weeks off work to be with me, and I didn't really need him the second week at all. Honestly, I didn't need him ALL that much the first week either except to run an errand or two - I prepared all my own food because I knew best what I needed and I also wanted to be up and about.
