Transferring hospitals?

How do you go about requesting a transfer? I have orientation June 26, are you able to request it at orientation? Could I call now and put in a request? Just curious. Anyone who's transferred, your advice is appreciated!! 

I don't know about asking at Orientation, but after my orientation....when I received my appointment with my surgeon, I mentioned that another bariatric hospital was much closer to me than he was, and he offered to transfer me to the one closer. I opted NOT to transfer...just because I was already moving along where I was, however I know he was ABLE to transfer me or write me a referral I guess to the other bariatric surgeon at the closer hospital. So you might want to just move along where you are until you get your surgeon appointment and then ask the surgeon to refer/transfer you =)
