Good Bye Diet Coke?
I used to drink my Diet Pepsi in 2L bottles, and would go through 2 or more a day! I had it in bed, on the road, at work....you would never see me without it. Was it easy? Not really. I still kinda missed it...until....
A couple of weeks ago, I was cleaning under the couch, and I found an unopened 710 mL Diet Pepsi.n the date was still good, and I figured, "Hey, why not?". Let me tell you, it was not all it seemingly used to be. I found the taste odd, almost off putting. I did fini**** but it actually strengthened my resolve to quit.
It's been over a month now, and with that one exception, combined with my starting to excercise more and switching to actually eating meals and snacks (instead of one or two massive meals a day), focusing more on protein, and cutting down on carbs to get ready for the post surgery change, (assuming I get to the surgeon) I've dropped about 24 pounds so far...providing my home scale is accurate.
It really boils down to a mindset. Right now I'm using my charge to surgery to keep me focused. Once surgery happens, I'll be too busy trying to get all I'm supposed to eat in to NOT be focused. You can do it, I know you can.
I'm gonna start weening myself off this week. Gonna be cutting it out after orientation June 17
Thats awsome, and you will feel better starting before surgery trust me...I start my opti on Thursday and i have started to cut back on my bread and carbs. Just over 4 months from referral to surgery. But i worked my butt off with therapy last year for my over eating. Studying about gastric bypass etc. I wanted to make sure this is the right tool for me, and wanted to make sure i was committed to this for the rest of my life. In the 90s a had a WLS ( VBG),, that didnt work for me. I am having a revision and i believe they move us on a little quicker as long as we are ready..Thanks Mandy, my private message and friend request isnt working, but when it does i will send you one..Krista....
I have been doing therapy also.
Trying to deal my low self esteem and self worth problems. Part of me feels I don't deserve to be happy, fit and all the good things then the other part is scream hell ya you do. Weight loss happens in our heads before it happens on our bodies.
I have been working on me for years and I think this is the best time of my life to do this surgery.
I will try to add you Lady
at our pre op orientation in Ottawa-we were told that any carbonated drink PERIOD is a no no post op-even if you let it go flat before you drink it it will re-carbonate in your stomach acids- and it will do major damage before you realize you have a problem--so I have not had a pop or a bubbly drink of any kind since surgery- I had a rough enough start with post op complications I don't need anymore now... IMHO (in my humble opinion)
