Hi All,

can anyone tell me ballpark how long it takes for the steri strips to fall o? They are driving me crazy...itching too.

Hi Tanya,

When i went to my famiy dr. 10 days post op he told me if they were bugging me, which they were, to take them off. He took off the first one to show me how and then I took off the remaining ones. The worst part was getting the adhesive off my tummy.

Yes I took mine off about 6-7 days. Getting the sticky tape residue I used baby oil, or in a pinch, nail polish remover...yuk but it works!

Starting weight: 334 lbs.Starting opti weight: 323 lbs, Surgery weight 303 lbs.Surgery-May 21st, 2013 with Dr Hagen at HRRH Goal weight 165 lbs reached at 13 months. Current weight 156 lbs

I took my off 7 days after cuz they were so itchy. It really helped that i did it in the shower. If u have some bio oil, put that on. It is amazing for healing scars. But i agree, that adhesive tape is awful. Ive tried everything to get it off.

Hi Tanya , good thing you don't have staples, mine are buggin me a little but I get em out on Tuesday. Itchy is good. It means you're healing well.

I had my surgery on thurs may 30 and took off the steri strips on Wednesday night. The itching was killing me!!!!! And it was completely fine, and most of it was already scabbed over.
