Grab a bunch of the big fat straws used for shakes from a fast food joint like Dairy Queen or McDonalds instead of trying to use those skinny things they sell by the box at a supermarket. Get someone else to pick them up if you can't handle the temptation of being around a fast food joint.

Genius ... Oh I have some partners in crime with large purses for extra condiments and straws. Hahaha.. They will be more then happy to stock up on straws for me

I have not noticed the smell and have no problems with the flavour or consistency. As long as it's coldish I'm ok.
