Iron Supplement suggestions

Does anyone know if low iron gives you dark circles around your eyes?  I have dark circles on my eyelids from above the tear duct area to under my eye area.  They are half moon shaped.  They appeared about 5 years ago at the same time I found out I was diabetic.  I thought they were from diabetes but I also have low iron

  Thanks for the information on how to take iron supplements I haven't been doing this right.  I have been taking along with my calcium pills.
