I'm more worried about the Premier Protein shakes for the rest of my life. I don't like shakes normally. Is there something we can do with those things? Are you drinking protein shakes Krista?

I guess I was in minority but I preferred vanilla, as I thought and confirmed changing the flavour with crystal light or syrups would be easier than chocolate.  I bought all 3 weeks worth of vanilla except one box of chocolate.  When I had my surgery I had a box of vanilla and a box less one serving of chocolate, the vanilla was OK with flavouring.

I used a ton of ice in each drink and blended it for extra time to make it good and frothy.  Wasn't too bad, def not disgusting, but don't miss it at all.  Good luck, enjoy the ride!

I could only get vanilla and panicked, I had heard it was terrible. But I tried syrups, decafe Nescafé and ugh it was terrible. Then someone here said try pure cocoa and tat was perfect or me. Ice and cocoa powder and it worked great for me.

I preferred Vanilla as well and traded ALL my chocolate to a fellow pre op in my city for her vanilla because she couldnst stand vanilla.

I gagged on the first one and had trouble with it. the second one I added a cap full (VERY STRONG!) of decaf instant coffee, blended with ice and water and drank from a cup with a lid and straw. I did this everyday for 2 weeks. I did not spice it up any other way. By day 3 it was very tolerable and by the end of the first week I could drink it normally without chugging it down like I was shotgunning a beer lol

I'm on day 6 right now, and have found my groove.  300 ml COLD water, 6 ice cubes, 1 Crystal light pkg, 1 pkg vanilla Optifast.  Lemon/Lime CL tastes like lime sherbet, Raspberry and Tangerine/Grapefruit tastes like their respective Creamsicles. Raspberry CL is also really tasty with the chocolate Optifast.

I tried the instant coffee, but found that something in it sinks to the bottom, making it taste kinda nasty.  But that's me.

Going to experiment more with the SF syrups this week.  But Cinnamon Dolce from SB? Yum!

I'm probably in the minority as I couldn't drink it with any of the syrups, extracts or Crystal Light. I found it way too sweet. The first time I did Opti I tried it with a different flavourings for the first few days and then gave up.  I tried it with decaf coffee granules and that was by far my favourite.  It almost tasted like an iced coffee and that was how I drank all of them the second time I did it.  I used about 5 ice cubes, a couple spoonfuls of coffee and as much water as I could fit in my bullet and blended it all up.

Thank you for the feedback. Great ideas.

I dont drink coffee now, so I dont think the coffee flavors will work for me.

Blending with lots of ice probably will be my thing. I dont like frothy stuff, so making it like a thick milkshake may work for me.

So nice to see a POSITIVE Optifast post.

I wasn't required to do it when I had my surgery but my hubby loved it with decaf

I also had read that the vanilla wasn't great, so I bought 6 boxes of chocolate opti. I didn't mind them on their own, but I thought they tasted better (and somehow less thick) when mixed with a packet of raspberry lemonade Crystal Light. I also mixed them with some orange extract, to try to mimic a Terry's Chocolate Orange.

My best Opti tip is get a few lidded cups with straws. Opti can have a bit of a funky smell that you don't actually taste, the lidded cups are AWESOME for this.
