Cereal Recommendation
What cereal do u buy? I have not had surgery yet but I am trying to eat healthy?
The nutritionist recommended Fiber One but it has a lot of carbs in it. I am diabetic. I was eating the Kirkland Muesli but she told me to watch the sugar in it. I find it has equal or less than Fiber One.
So spam me with your ideas please!!!
To be honest, Not a big fan of cereal as they are processed junk for the most part. I'd rather start off with a protein shake or eggs and chicken/turkey bacon.
The one I tend to buy is President's Choice fibre first. It's like allbran with a ton of fibre. it's basically healthier than the sugary ones and if I'm going to add anything I will add a small handful of blueberries or cut up strawberries. I prefer protein though for breakfast.

I agree that cooked cereal Oats are the best, for me anyway. They are loaded with complex carbs and keep you full longer. I make up a batch of Steel Cut Oats and then refrigerate them. I then portion out what I need and nuke it. There is also a great recipe for refrigerator oatmeal that is cold and you add your own fruit.
However if you like cold cereal. Kashi Go Lean (not the Crunch, too much sugar) is a good one and also the Fiber one cereals. good Luck on you Journey.

oatmeal, cream of wheat, oatbran cereal, I make my own skinny B cereal version and keep it in a glass jar in the fridge, add 3 T Greek yogurt and 1/3 cup unsweetened soy milk plus a half a fruit for breakfast. In a pinch I use kashi lean with some unsweetened soy milk, more protein than fiber one though it does have sugar, you'll have to look and decide for yourself.

Kashi Go Lean & Kashi Go Lean Crunch (this one is great after surgery on yogurt-adds a lot of protein & fibre).

I'd skip the cereal and have a quick omelet of egg creations and a small amount of cheese and whatever veg u like. It really s faster than u think to make. If you really need fibre then yogurt with a tablespoon of all bran. Good to get in the habit of loading protein even before surgery. Your body with respond pleasantly if you are exercising as well because it wants the protein for repair.
good luck
