Any suggestions on what i should buy now for after surgery any advise atall would be great thanks
I feel the same way about food - I love to cook and eat and it still worries me sometimes. My doctor told me not to worry because after the surgery my taste in food will change but that I won't care as I will not crave them like I do now. Which will be great because my cravings are very very strong sometimes. I actually posted last week on this very topic and got some great feedback:

I have been looking at this website called "Bariatric Foodie" and it has been helpful in that I can see that you can still be a foodie after gastric bypass. Here is the link if you are interested: http://bariatricfoodie.blogspot.ca/

All the best to you - you'll be fine. :)
I think make sure you have comfy PJ's and clean, fresh sheets on your bed and pillow for when you get home~ Nothing beats a cozy space to rest yourself down in! :)
Make sure you have the food items you need for the first week ready in the fridge/freezer.
I am a big hot sauce gal ... that is another question I will have to ask the surgeon next week ... :)

That occurred to me as well, I always considered myself a real foodie. What I was was a real glutton! If you experience something like myself you will find your tastes change and in a huge way! I used eat hot food to the point where I was sweating so much I needed a shower to cool off. Now I would never think of doing such a thing. I used to crave spice and sugar, now sugar makes me want to gag, spice I still like but flavour, not heat. But I do crave salt, which I was never a big fan of before (some folks here have said its my body telling me I need more salt, could be I don't know).
I recommend you not stock up too much on anything, as you don't really know in which direction your new pouch will take you. You should have found a protein powder, both unflavored for adding to food and if you're making smoothies at home a vanilla or a prepackaged brand if that's the way you want to go. And a broth you like, low in sodium and fat, high in taste (I like the PC blue menu ones).
Enjoy the ride! ![]()
