Well not quite home, but at my parents place. Mom has made a nice little nest for me!
Still have gas pain - not sure if I'm just a big sucky baby or have a lower pain tolerance but they sent me home with a prescription for Percocet. Anyone else go home with heavy duty meds? I also didn't drink anything other than water and diluted apple juice while in hospital. When did you guys attempt broth? I'm so nervous of making myself sick that I'm probably being overly cautious but I'm not even remotely hungry or interested in broth yet...

Congratulations to be home sweet home, it is so nice you have the support of your mom, hopefully a veteran can give you some tips on eating and liquid intake.

Congrats on your recovery! angry Now move as much as your body allows and drink TONS of water!  Broth for me was first day home, at night.  Was much better than the protein crap they fed me in the hospital!  Don't be scared to eat a little, I found I was very nauseous for the first week, then I found it went away when I ate.  It was my new body saying FEED ME!  When I did we got along much better.  I went home with percocet, only took a few, but really needed them two weeks later when they took my gall bladder out (that was too soon to have another operation).

Now go watch some comedy on the tube or youtube and mend!  kiss

Congrats on being home. I am 3 wks 4 days post op. I also got sent home with some pretty heavy pain meds. I didnt end up finising the whole prescription. (AndI have the lowest pain tolerance on the planet LOL!) I had my surgery in Ottawa and was given broth while in the hospital. As for gas pain, just keep walking and it will go away. Just take it one day at a time. Everyday will get that much easier.

Thanks everyone!! My mom is cooking supper and it smells SO good! So I might try some broth since I think I might actually be hungry

Welcome home sounds like you're doing well!!!

I was given the script for the Percocet as well but I haven't taken any, but I didn't need much pain med in the hospital first day after surgery only.

I'm finding it harder today than it has been nothing seems to be sitting well in my new pouch and heartburn so bad all night last night and it's right on the edge of flaring up again. I'm sitting here with my cream mushroom soup and afraid to sip it.  The first sip of broth I had at the hospital didn't sit well with me so I avoided it and like you stayed with just the water and diluted apple juice and diluted tea.

Being overly cautious is not a bad thing

Did you get an acid reducer?  I can't go without mine. It makes a huge difference.  I was given Percocets as well but didn't use them a lot in fact i still have the bottle in the cupboard.  Congrats! You will feel much better in about a week!
