Exercise
I am just wondering how much walking we should try to get in per day post surgery. I put my gym membership on hold till Christmas, as they said we should not be going to the gym.
I am walking everyday (at least 2km) but the pounds are not coming off? Am I doing something wrong? Should I head back to the gym and hit the treadmill??
I'm 8 weeks post op and the first two weeks I walked 2km a day then I returned to the gym and walked 4 km a day which is about 45 min@ 3mph on the treadmill and my
Surgeon said it was ok to start wieght training at 6 weeks out because it takes 3 weeks for your skin@ the incisions to be at 80%
Wishing you luck on your journey
My surgeon gave me to green light to train for a 5k at 3 weeks post op. He said if it hurts stop(obviously follow what your surgeon says)
..Sadly you are probably in a stall. I am not sure how far out you are but I am currently in a stall(I'm 3.5months)..In the past week I have ran 24 km trying to break my stall(I've been stalled since the beginning of October)..I have been to boxing and tortured by a workout video..my scale has not budged ..not even an ounce...Im so ticked off I have earned more then that! BUT as they say just keep going and the scale will move eventually! Some say you need more protein or calories in general..you could try and switch it up a bit maybe?
Good Luck..I know its frustrating!

I didn't start back to the gym until this week, and only the treadmill, but I am also quite lazy, lol :p But I'd say if you enjoy the gym atmosphere and the social aspects, you could go in and do your 2 km on the treadmill. I think as long as you don't have any pain you could be ok to do the treadmill. I wouldn't pu**** with weights, your muscles are still healing and even using arm weights might upset the balance and pull a muscle in your core but I think a bit of light cardio on the treadmill would be fine.
Everyone loses weight differently and you might lose a bit slower and then suddenly drop quite a bit a week from now. If you're getting your water and protein in then you are doing it right :)
