I still have a day and a half of the clear liquids diet. My throat and ears are still killing me I can't get the broth down too salty and jello doesn't feel much better. Tea and water... should I try a little milk? Michelle

nope

 

if you find the broth too salty maybe try the low sodium versions.  IT IS CRITICAL to follow your surgeons plan at this early stage!  you are still healing inside.  DO NOT risk it.  if you are adamant about deviating from the plan call your surgeons office and ask them beforehand!

I will stick to tea and water then... broth is low sodium and I am cutting it with water and it is still no good. Thanks Michelle

I have a bacterial infection I think it was caused during surgery last Tuesday. I am on anti bototics.

You could try making your own broth.  Then you can control what's in it better.  If you are making it from chicken pieces, you can freeze the meet for a later stage.

try a different brand of broth. i had to try about 4 different kinds before I found one I could use. After a while with just sweet drinks, jello etc I was happy to have some savory. keep trying. and no to milk.
